15th Annual Arkansas Hot Air Balloon State Championships, September 10-12, 2010The Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce will host the 15th Annual Arkansas Hot Air Balloon State Championship on September 10th, 11th, and 12th, 2010 in the magnificent Ozark Mountains. This unique outdoor event that began in 1995 is held in beautiful downtown Harrison, Arkansas along the banks of Crooked Creek. The Balloon Festival will kick off on Friday evening with over 20 balloons tethered to the ground for the exciting "Balloon Glow". Tethered rides are offered for $5 a person. The event will continue through Sunday with several Balloon Race Competitions for all to enjoy. Come experience the "Hot Air Balloon Adventure" with us! Bring your kids, your cameras, and your lawnchairs for some great family fun! 2010 Harvest Homecoming Fall Festival, October 2-3, 2010 Planning for the 2010 HARVEST HOMECOMING FALL FESTIVAL is well under way! Vendors and entertainers are now being sought for this two-day event to be held Saturday, October 2nd and Sunday, October 3rd, 2010. Vendors need to contact Lana Trublood at 870-741-6191. Persons interested in entertaining need to contact Tamsyn Simon at 870-715-2711. The Harvest Homecoming Pageant will be Saturday, October 2nd. Entry fee is $15, attire is dressy casual, and the pageant is open to all ages. Forms for vendors, pageant, etc. are available on the events' Facebook Page (simply search "Harvest Homecoming"). The Official Miss and Mr. Harvest Homecoming Pageant will be held Saturday, October 2nd at 2 p.m. during the Harvest Homecoming fall festival on the Harrison square. Divisions for girls and boys of all ages, and a Ms. division will be offered. NO PAGEANT ATTIRE. Wear your favorite fall Casualwear and show your personality! No pageant experience necessary. Entry fee is $15 before the day of the pageant or $25 at registration. Photogenic is $10 in advance or $15 at registration. For more information, call (870)715-2711. 2010 "HOTROD HARVEST", October 2-3, 2010 "HOTROD HARVEST" will be Oct. 2nd and 3rd, 2010 in downtown Harrison, Arkansas. Proceeds go to construct "Enduring Freedom" monument to honor local fallen heroes of the Gulf, Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Drive-In Movie will be held Saturday night the 2nd at the First National Bank Soccer Complex located at 202 Old Stonewall Road, Harrison, Arkansas; "American Graffiti" will be playing!
